Jacob Madrid – Coach
A Lower Valley, El Paso native, Jake was a three-sport athlete at Riverside High School. Jacob earned All-District and All-City honors playing centerfield and was a member of the National Honor Society four four years. Post graduation he went on to play in the CHSOL between El Paso and Juarez, Mexico.
Jacob has garnered extensive coaching experience in multiple sports since 2004, including:
- select baseball at Eastwood Optimist
- multiple sports at the YMCA
- swimming/track at YSLETA middle school
- baseball at Riverside middle school.
When he moved to Austin in 2011, Jake was introduced to high school coaching. Since then, he has worked with countless high school athletes during their college recruiting process, and came to understand how grueling the process can be. Jake will be returning to school at Texas State University, where he will continue pursuing a degree in Kinesiology (Health & Human Performance).
Jake became a certified personal trainer in 2015, and CPR certified every year. He plans to earn his Master’s degree from the United States Sports Academy in Alabama.
Coach Madrid specializes in hitting, fielding, elite athletic performance, and as a high school athletic consultant to aid aspiring students pursue their athletic dreams. 2017 will be his 13th consecutive years coaching baseball and youth sports.
