Jacob Whitman – Coach

Jacob was born in Temple and raised in Dripping Springs, where he graduated in 2003. Played 3 years on the Varsity team and lettered 2, as a pitcher and first baseman. Jacob earned all district honors at first base his Junor and Senior seasons.
He moved on to Concordia University after high school, where he pitched for two seasons. After Concordia he transferred to Sam Houston State University where he was a pitcher and 1st baseman for the #2 ranked club team in the country. After graduating he had the opportunity to play independent ball with the Fort Worth Cats, but decided it was best to begin his career as a teacher and a coach. Although is playing career was over, he knew that coaching baseball was what he wanted to do because it allowed him to share his love of the game with kids. He returned to his alma mater, Dripping Springs, to coach baseball and teach Special Education for two years. Currently, he is a Special Education teacher at Gorzycki Middle School in Austin and feels blessed to a part of the Clutch Athletics Family.
