Shane LeBlanc – Coach

About

Shane LeBlanc was born in Metairie, Louisiana and grew up in Mandeville, Louisiana. Shane started playing baseball at the age of nine which was still coach pitch. Shane took the mound for the first time at the age of 10 and recorded 17 strikeouts in his first appearance. It was then that he decided to continue to pursue that position for good. At the age of 14 Shane and his All Star team won the Dizzy Dean, Louisiana Sectionals, Regional’s, and the State Tournament. This sent them off to represent the State in Mountain Brook, Alabama for the Dizzy Dean World Series.

Shane began High School baseball at Mandeville High School on the JV team as a freshman. As a sophomore, Shane started at third base. Throughout his high school career, Shane made one State Tournament finals appearance and received First Team All District as a First Baseman his Junior year and First Team all District as a Pitcher his Senior year.

Shane went on to play baseball in College at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama an NAIA school. Shane pitched and played third base at Faulkner. While long tossing and preparing for his start in the pitching rotation, Shane sustained an injury to his right shoulder that would ultimately end his baseball career. Shane was sent to George Wallace Community College in Selma, Alabama the following fall after surgery, for rehabilitation. Ultimately his shoulder could not perform at the level needed of a collegiate baseball athlete anymore.

Once Shane’s baseball career was over, he made a very bold move and decided to join the United States Marine Corps in the spring of 1998. While serving as a Corrections Specialist in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Shane married his wife Allison on July 5th, 2000. Shane and Allison have known each other since the age of 13. Shane’s first child, Layne, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in February of 2001. In 2002 Shane made a career move within the Marine Corps and was stationed at Goodfellow Air Force base where he trained to become an Imagery Intelligence Specialist. It was here that his son Brady was born in December of 2002. After graduating Imagery school Shane was assigned to Marine Unmanned Vehicle Squadron 2 in Cherry Point, NC. It was with this unit that Shane served 3 tours in Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2006 Shane and family were reassigned to the Joint Intelligence Operation Center in Pearl Harbor, HI. In 2009 Shane was reassigned to the 1st Marine Logistics Group in Camp Pendleton, CA. Shane decided to get out of the Marine Corps after 12 years and pursue life as a civilian.

In February of 2010, Shane and family arrived in Dripping Springs, TX. It was at this time that Shane began his youth baseball coaching career. Shane has coached every fall and spring season since 2010. One season as a recreation coach and All Star Coach, and eight seasons as a Select baseball coach.

Shane remains an avid student of the game and is extremely knowledgeable in the area of youth select baseball. He is an amazing fit for our Clutch Family and will bring a tremendous level of select baseball knowledge to our organization.
