Rob Johnson – Owner Clutch Athletics
Rob was born and raised in Montana. Montana does not offer high school baseball, but Rob dreamed of playing in the MLB someday. He walked on to Saddleback Junior College in Southern California after graduating high school in 2001. He made the team and was later drafted by the Florida Marlins and the Philadelphia Phillies in 2002 and 2003. Rob decided to decline the draft and continue school. He went on to the University of Houston in 2004 and was drafted in the 4th round after the college season by the Seattle Mariners.
He started his professional career with the Mariners making stops in Everett Washington, Appleton Wisconsin, San Bernadino California and Tacoma Washington before making his Major League debut in 2007. Rob has played 7 straight seasons in the MLB with four different teams. The Seattle Mariners(2007-2010), San Diego Padres(2011), New York Mets(2012) and recently with the National League Champions St. Louis Cardinals. In 2014, Rob pursued a career in pitching with the San Diego Padres. He wanted to understand the game from a pitching perspective.
Unfortunately, Rob suffered a career ending injury to his elbow and after much thought and prayer, decided to retire.
In 2006, Rob married his beautiful wife, Kristan, and they have three children.
